About Veronica Quiros – Tica Surf Bikinis designer extraordinaire!
I was born in San Jose, but grew up by the sea – my grandparents lived in Guanacaste where we would visit often. When I was seven we moved to Limon on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica for two years, and in 1998 I moved to Jaco with my love Marco who loved surfing. In 1999 we were blessed with our beautiful daughter Marypaz who is my inspiration and in 2003 we moved to Santa Teresa. Everyday I wake up and thank God for having my daughter and family and such a beautiful place to live. I make breakfast and drink coffee, think of new bikini designs and then go surfing with my friends. Sometimes I teach surf or Spanish lessons then go work at the store where I sell the swimwear and spend the evenings with my family! For ever surf in my life!!!”
I started working with the first handmade design in 2002, the same year I started surfing. Immediately I knew I needed a bikini that wouldn’t keep falling off – because it was frustrating to be fixing the bikini when trying to get past the waves to the lineup. I didn’t want to have to wear big boardshorts and a rash guard – I wanted a swimsuit that was cute but comfortable and that would stay on while surfing.
With years of testing and fixing, I have designed a perfect bikini that has cuts and styles for all ages and sizes. From size 0 up to size XXL, you can mix and match the sizes of tops with bottoms. The bikinis have lateral adjustments and they can be snug around your waist and you can loosen them while you are on the beach. Plus, all of the bikinis are reversible! Tops and bottoms can be combined as desired.
